Mullion Golf Club is set spectacularly on the cliff tops of the Lizard Peninsula in one of the most beautiful and most exposed locations in England. Originally founded in 1895, Mullion Golf Club came close to extinction on a number of occasions and, like the proverbial phoenix, the club managed to claw its way from the ashes.
William Sich was the driving force behind Mullion’s early years and he is also accredited with the course design. An exhibition match in 1966 featuring Peter Alliss, Dai Rees, Norman Sutton and Bernard Hunt celebrated the re-opening of the full 18-hole course and Mullion has never looked back.
Mullion is mainland Britain’s most southerly golf course and for the most part the ground is sandy and links-like. Rod originally nominated the course as a Gem and we added Mullion to the Top 100 website in March 2006. Rod reckons Mullion is “not championship golf just enjoyment golf”. We heartily agree and Mullion has since deservedly attained a coveted ranking position.
The cliff top setting is exhilarating, and, although Mullion is not the most exacting golfing challenge, it is one of the most enjoyable and natural golfing experiences in Britain. | |

 | | Played this little beauty in April whilst on honeymoon! As you can see been a bit bust and took me a while to get this on. Course was in supeerb nick. This place is truely unique in every way. The setting is the mosgt spectacular i've ever played. looking down on the church and sea from the higher holes is a view that is now embedded in my brain, and imediately reminds me of happy peacefull things!!!! To describe the course, I don't think you can really do it on here. The elevation changes have to be played to be believed, but will not be for everyones taste. Course a real brute too with the almost constant cliff-top wind. On a downside I'd have to say that the welcome from the assistant pro (Nick I believe) was the rudest i've ever experienced. However on the flip side the catering staff were the friendliest and more than made up for this. They even offered to cook my wife and I a meal even tho they were closed as it was late. Apparently everyone at the club knows how rude the assistant is but apparently the head pro is not bothered. Shame as his attitude really leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Non the less, this is now a must play for my annual Cornish holiday.

 | | played this little beauty about 5 years ago. Was very new to golf at the time and thought it was too dificult for me to enjoy. Looking back now tho I have very fond memories of Mullion. Really quirky holes and IMHO the best coastal views of Cornwall on the lizard. I'd love to return now that my game has improved to test myself again.

 | | Mullion is a fab little course - with some quirky holes which gets better as you go round as the first few holes are pretty weak. Highlights are the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th which is a great little stretch with some good holes and better views.
On the down side played there on the 29th Dec and 30th dec - and the 'reception' we got on the 29th dec in the shop when looking to sign in was the rudest welcome I have ever recieved and almost made us forget the 30th tee booking. |

| | | Beautiful course in a lovely, little visited, corner of England.
Very friendly course, excellent value green fee, and some memorable holes - warnings regarding Adder snakes, and the downhill par 4 followed by a par 4 along the bottom of the hill finishing by an abandoned chapel on the beach stick in the memory.

| | | A beautiful golf course with some stunning views. An ideal holiday members course - not long but with some interesting and challenging holes.
On the day we played it the wind was a mere breeze - but beware if the wind blows!
We were made to feel more than welcome by the members and the staff.
Well worth the visit if you are down in Cornwall. |
