Burundi is synonymous with drumming and the Burundi drum is still a national symbol of this tumultuous mountainous country. It’s worth checking the current situation before travelling as the beautiful Burundi staggers out from decade of inter-tribal war.   

Even though Burundi is one of Africa’s poorest nations the country can boast one golf course at Bujumbura Golf Club which apparently recently survived a rebel attempt to take over and destroy the club. A tentative Burundian peace now exists.
