Riddell's Bay Golf & Country Club is located at the southern tip of Bermuda in the pretty parish of Warwick. Dating back to 1922, Riddell’s Bay is the elder statesman of Bermudan golf and Devereux Emmett, who went on to fashion the famous course at Congressional Country Club in Maryland, originally designed Riddell’s Bay.

Undeniably Riddell’s Bay is a high-class golf and social experience for all their members and guests, but the club also welcomes visitors and they welcome you most warmly.

Riddell’s Bay is a charming and appealing layout, which flows along a narrow peninsula with views of the Great Sound and the ships, which glide past on their way to Hamilton. There is no hint of a gentle start at Riddle’s Bay. The opening hole is a demanding doglegged par four which is perhaps the toughest hole on the course. A stout drive down the right hand side of the fairway will leave a testing uphill approach to an elevated green which is well protected by bunkers to the left and to the right.

This is by no means a championship layout – Riddell’s Bay measures a mere 5,800 yards from the back tees – but scoring is never easy on this compact course, especially when there’s an Atlantic breeze blowing. With a couple of water hazards and four ocean side holes, Riddell’s Bay is a photographer’s dream, so don’t forget you camera. Finally, keep a look out for some on-course modifications, which Ed Beidel is making to Emmett’s original layout. Rumour has it that Beidel is doing the old course proud.

Reviews for Riddell's Bay

Av. Reviewers Score:

Quite a short course by today's standards but nevertheless a good track. The course sits along the coast has has some picturesque views overlooking the Atlantic. Not the best course on Bermuda but a pleasent one and you'll be sure of a warm welcome if playing there.
